First edition, first printing. Six members of the Department of Architecture, Imperial University of Toky, allfrom the class of 1920, organized “Bunriha Kenchiku Kai” [Secessionist Architectural Group] before theirgraduation. The first members were Kikuharu Ishimoto, Mayumi Takizawa, Kiyoshi Horiguchi, Keiichi Morita,Mamoru Yamada, and Shigeru Yada. We should call them the first architectural movement started in Japan, considering the inaugural declaration included in their Collected Works published upon their first exhibition.Bunriha has been regared as a Japanese wing of contemporary expressionism which originated in theGerman-speaking world. Lit.: Amanai Daiki, The Founding of Bunriha Kenchiku Kai: Art and Expression inEarly Japanese Architectural Circle, 2009.

Binding slightly browned, especially at the spine, overall a very fine copy of the delicate book.
