Very nice dedication copy, dated immediately after publication.

First edition, first printing. Bruno Taut had been in Japan for barely four weeks in 1933 when he was commissioned by Meiji Shobo Verlag to write a book about his impressions. „Nippon seen through European eyes“ immediately became a bestseller in 1930s Japan. This is the extremely rare first edition, first printing.

In his diary Bruno Taut notes on 1 June 1934: „Heute ist mein Buch erschienen…. Habe eine Reihe Exemplare signiert.“
