Published in 1935, this book brings together a collection of articles from the magazine *Asahi Graph*. Featuring over 400 photographs and commentaries by architects, it offers a fascinating insight into the houses of the early Shōwa period. The subtitle (Photographs and Commentary on Health and Efficiency) indicates that the focus, as was often the case in European modern architecture of the time, lies on the health and efficiency (rationalisation) of modern living.

Includes texts by Hideo Kishida, Chikatada Kurata, Torao Saitō and others.

Outside Japan, I can only find two copies. One is in the library of the Canadian Centre for Architectur.

Both the slipcase and the book are slightly discoloured in places, but overall it is a very fine copy.
