First publication of the Workers’ Council for Art. “An outstanding document on the early history of the Bauhaus and an important source for the November Group.” (Bolliger). A programmatic document by the Workers’ Council, founded in the wake of the November Revolution, compiling the responses of 28 members to a questionnaire. With contributions by, among others, Adolf Behne, Walter Gropius, Max and Bruno Taut. Illustrations by César Klein, Otto Freundlich, Heinrich Richter, Moriz Melzer, Max Pechstein, and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff.
